Iranian-backed militias of Hashd al-Shaabi killed on Tuesday evening a Kurdish child in Kirkuk province, said police.
“A Kurdish young boy identified as Harem Ghamgin was shot to death by the militiamen of Hashd al-Shaabi in the neighborhood of Shorija,” Head of Kirkuk police, Idris Rafat, told BasNews, noting that the armed men were part of the Shi’ite group’s counter-terrorism forces.
“An older guy was also wounded who was with the child,” he added. “But he survived after receiving medical treatment at the hospital.”
Since the Iraqi army and militias of Hashd al-Shaabi have taken over the disputed Kurdish areas, kidnapping people, killing civilians, and similar violations have drastically increased in the disputed territories.
In October, last year, Iraqi army in coordination with the Hashd al-Shaabi entered Kirkuk, Khanaqin, and Tuz Khurmatu in a military incursion and forced Peshmerga to withdraw from the area.
